About

Holly Danger

Designer , Videographer, VJ. Slanted and Enchanted. Predictably unpredictable. Wide eyed wanderer. Beat junky traveler. Collage composer. Reiki healer. Burner. Sagittarian. Snowboarder. I need an art, travel & music fix every few weeks to stay alive. Sometimes the best conversation are when no words are said at all. Energy for energy is my mantra. Contrast, texture and eccentricity always catch my eyes. I’m completely obsessed with documenting the here and now, as well as what is and what was.

You probably know me as Holly Danger, though depending how well you know me, you’d know that it originates from Holly Diane Anger. I’m a Designer at heart, a Videographer & Editor by trade, and a VJ every moment in between. Here you’ll find a collection of thoughts, sketches, upcoming gigs, projects, and experiments, meant to inspire, to excite, to learn, to connect with other designers, and to collaborate ideas.

My studio used to be based in my multi-colored attic apartment – but as of Feb. 2010, I have newly opened the doors of the Danger Studio at the Loft Artist building in Stamford, CT. Though most of my time is spent between time & space on trains or in traffic heading to NYC.

I graduated SUNY Purchase College, with a BA in Graphic Design in 2001. For four years my primary focus was on design concepts, typography and print based work. As a result my approach to video and motion is a lot less traditional, but I’m learning to prefer it that way. My entire perspective has shifted since falling in love with the moving image through design.

My personal weapons of choice include:

Brains: Mac Pro, Macbook Pro & Powerbook.

Eyes: Sony HD V1U video camera, Canon 60D, Canon SD780, Epson Powerlight Projector EX50 & 76C, (2) NEC NP-V300X

Legs: Mini & Full tripods.

Face: 16 ft tendo screen, and a 9 ft tendo screen, Epson Portable Duet Projector Screen

Imagination: Final Cut, DVD Studio, (CS4 Studio) Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Compressor, Arkaos NuVJ, Arkaos GrandVJ, Livid Union and Ohm controller. My studio is also filled with non-electronics to get my hands dirty. Lots of paint, ink, resin, spray paint, button makers, and other such toys. For printing I just upgraded and bought the Canon Mark II Inkjet Pro9000.
