Fate Loves the Fearless

There have been a few moments in the last month, where I think I’ve experienced a magnetism pulling me in a new direction, some sort of “sign”. Or maybe it’s not a “sign”, maybe it’s a higher perception that we synchronize with for a moment and feel a new kind of clarity. Whatever it is, I felt it. And this time I decided to act on it without fear of change holding me back.

I’ll be turning thirty-four in 3 weeks (on the island of Anguilla no less!) and I see this as a turning point in my life and in my career. Time to make moves and shake things up. The Flaming Lips sung a song that struck a chord with me a few weeks ago when they sung, “All we have is now…” One of the most beautiful and exhilarating live performances I’ve seen in awhile.

Over the last few years I’ve really honed in on some skills that I’m passionate about and have wanted to focus my life on entirely. Video editing, after effects animation, motion graphics, live performance art and video installations. I love being around crazy vibrant people who live and breathe creativity daily. I love traveling around the world and exposing myself to this beautiful place we live in while creating art inspired by those experiences. I know all of these things brings out the best in me, and I want to invite more of that into my life on a daily basis in the coming year.

A whole new life is cultivating here and it all starts now!  Wish me luck as I charge forward with a headful of new ideas for my future. The future is now!

Visual Goodness: Week in Pictures – July 5

Happy Fourth of July Weekend!!! Here is my 2nd installation of Visual Goodness, my week in pictures!

Sunday we began at a sweet cowboy bar in Brooklyn, called Skinny Dennis. I highly recommend you check this place out if you’re in BK!  Make sure you get the mason jar beers!

We went to see our friend Rick Snell play some badass blue grass.

Which would not be complete without my bestie & my boyfriend, pictured below.

Wednesday was the first time in three years that Stamford was set to light off fireworks for the city. We joined together with our local friends in the neighborhood and walked down to some private beaches to check it all out. Special shout out to Kelly for inviting us and arranging the shindig!

This week I decided to submit a proposal to give a talk at Ignite Stamford. It’s a little like giving a TED talk but you only have five minutes and 20 slides that auto advance every 15 seconds. I’ll be giving a talk on the creative process and behind the scenes of my stop-motion animation project, Soul Seasons. Come check out my talk at Ignite on August 15th at the Ferguson Library.

I discovered that my favorite fruit, lychee nuts, are in season right now.. or at least I was able to find them at the grocery store! This is a rare occurrence to find them fresh! I’m still waiting to stir up a lychee martini.

Big successes for the week:

We finally got our beach pass and are officially boat license holders!  We loaded up our new zodiac and brought it down to the local dock so that we are now officially summer-ready for this sweltering heat!  Looking forward to enjoying all that summer has to offer!!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week and a few nice relaxing days off!!

Monkeytown April 3rd with the Cutlery

To those who may have been confused by some back & forth scheduling – The Monkeytown gig for April 3rd is back on!  Can’t wait!!!  We’ll be on at 7:30pm sharp!

This place is one of my favorite intimate multimedia venues. The front room is a bar with sketches drawn out across the walls, and the back room is lined with low couches amongst 4 huge video screen walls. The bands/djs play in the center of the room and the video images dance around you 360˚. They have an amazing selection of beers & an awesomely unusual list of food fusions. Absolutely awesome little place. Please come check us out on the 3rd!

Looking Forward!

This was a flyer that I created to promote a shared birthday between myself and three other very talented Sagittarians. The night was hosted by multiple bands and performances, while 2 walls covered the room in abstract visuals. Thanks to all who made it such a wonderful night!!!  My apologies to those who I didn’t get to catch up with. I was bought one too many birthday Chimays.  Thanks again guys!!
