Videos

The video collection you see below showcases my work as both a live performer, a commercial video editor, motion graphic designer and the experimental projects in between.

All videos were created using a combination of Final Cut Pro & After Effects drawn from my experience working on television commercials, movie trailers, web promos, documentaries, live video mixing and video installations.

“Soul Seasons” is an animation created using stop motion techniques with 1000 pieces of ripped paper, green screen footage, and a mix of graphic magic through the use of final cut pro and after effects. The story parallels life cycles in nature to our own human experiences of change, finding synchronicity and feeling love.

This animation has been exhibited at the City Canvases project in Bridgeport, CT, the LAMP Festival in New Haven, CT, the Factory Underground in Norwalk, CT and at the “A” Gallery in Martha’s Vineyard.

Curious to know what went into the making of “Soul Seasons”? I invite you to take a behind the scenes look at my methods of madness and creative flow as I create this animation from storyboard to video installation. Here you’ll find 3 months of filming, paper ripping and animation boiled down to 3 minutes.

Thanks to Jimmy Deane & Ryan McCann (aka Media Victim), I got to meet some really wonderful VJs from all over the world at Burning Man this year during their organized VJ meetup at Center Camp. Ryan was sweet enough to give me this wonderfully edited clip to capture a few words during my playa adventure at Burning Man.

I made this in 2010 to display at a SXSW event. It showcases a couple minutes of various VJ pieces that I have constructed to perform over the years.

“Electronic mucisian KODOMO and VJ HOLLY DANGER performed a polished set Thursday night at AudioVisual HQ Monkeytown. Intelligent beats and attractive melodies matched with concise rhythmic visuals and themed footage. VJing on the fly is a sport; appropriate they faced each other, standing. Great show! Full house! Cool scene!”

Shot by Holly Daggers, aka, WetCircuit.

This video captures one of my favorite shows. Kodomo and I traveled to Barcelona Spain to play at an awesome venue called Miscelanea.

On Thursday, November 10th, 2011, Franklin Street Works presented THE MOON, an audio visual performance project created by musician Jeff Schram and VJ Holly Danger. “Just after sunset, the atmosphere of our gallery was filled with acoustic music, heightened by electronic elements, vocals and digital manipulation. Local video artist Holly Danger melded a live mix of synchronized visual projections and camera effects over Schram’s sounds. The result was a unique one hour transformation of our space into a colorful dreamworld of visionary motion, art & sound! This is an excerpt from that experience.”-FSW

Experimental

The concept of this video is based on my mantra, energy for energy. The impact of two elements coming together and creating passion. Creation, exchange & fire. The song is called “Surfin” by William Orbit. Footage both found & mixed with my own, plus some final cut manipulation.

Music by Zeb, “Sufism”. Visuals cut and mixed with AE & FCP.

Spira Miribilis embodies my eternal love for the shapes and patterns in nature and traveling through it with every opportunity available.

This is a new visual sketch for some early designs, and beginning collaborations between myself and the beautiful music of Kodomo – kodomomusic.com – for his album “Still Life”. This song is called Concept 8 from the album.

Some footage shot by me mixed & remixed with found footage as well.

Concept 9 is a graphic collage animation that was built to showcase an underwater world of light blooming out of the
darkness and breaking through the expected.
